Since leaving home I have been saying that I need to upgrade my drivers licence to a Light Rigid (LR) licence so I can drive the truck - but to date have been really slack in doing it. So while we were in Townsville for a few weeks I decided it was one thing that I have to do. So I bought my "L" plates and the "Learn to Drive" book and started reading.Luckily I only have to sit a written test of 10 questions relating to heavy vehicles and then have a driving test - sounds easy - but I haven't had to sit a test for a long, long time - so I was a bit nervous. After practising the test online and getting Chris to grill me, I finally felt up to the challenge of the written test - so off we all headed to the Department of Transport. I was already nervous enough but it didn't help that Chris kept teasing me about how embarrassing it would be to fail the test!! He even teased me by joking with the kids and telling them that if I failed the test he would shout them all an ice-cream - so of course they wanted me to fail so they could have ice-cream!!
We went in - I paid my money and got the test - this was it - I filled out the answers and then started to worry because they all seemed to easy - I was finished the test in a flash. Then to find out the result.......10/10 - I ACED IT - sorry kids no ice-cream!!! Now all I had to do was the driving test, which I needed to practice in the truck first.
